Arturo Fuente 'Exquisito' Maduro

Arturo Fuente Exquisitos Maduro 1
Arturo Fuente 'Exquisito' Maduro. 4.5x33. Cut and lit well. Easy-medium draw pre- and post-light. Good build with mostly straight lines and some pronounced veins. Appearance is similar to a cheroot.

First half tastes of scorched leaf, dark herbal, bright earthy spice on the exhale. Second half is round, nutty, hard wood tones, peppery back end. Ash is mix of lights and darks, holding a bit over an inch. Even burn all across.

This is a great little cigarillo, a half-hour Maduro with plenty of dark roasty herb and spice flavors. Lately, this has been one of my go-to smokes during lunch when I have about 30 minutes to relax. Nice easy draw throughout, mild filler taste with a rich, maduro wrap. Very good. I can imagine always having a bundle of these on hand. Well recommended.

From the company:

"Made from the same tobacco as Hemingways and 8-5-8, this cigar has great taste and aroma. It has a medium filler and a Maduro wrapper. It is a small cigar for those times when you only have time for a quick smoke, but still want that unbeatable Fuente flavor."

Montecristo Fer de Lance

Montecristo Fer de Lance. 5x44. Petit Corona. Solid build from the box press construction. Medium brown wrap was smooth and perfectly straight with flush veins and leaf ends. Cut well. Light took a minute with a flame lighter. Draw was fine pre-light, more relaxed across the burn. Burn was even from start to finish. Intake taste on the first half was woodsy, earthy, with strong pepper notes. Toward the mid point the flavor turned to deep tobacco, leather, bitter spice. Exhale taste had more strong wood, bitter herbal, peppery to the edge. Ash was a marbled light gray that hung nearly two inches. Had to relight halfway down, despite consistent puffs of the stick, but it wasn't a deal breaker. No harsh flavors from the second light. Medium-full body. Ample smoke, particularly in the first half. This is a solid little stogie, not in the same league as Montecristo's main line, but still worthy of your time. And at 5x44, it's a good quick break for tobacco purists. Recommended.

From the company:

"With its rich history and reputation, Montecristo has become one of the most popular cigars in the world and the standard by which all other cigars are judged. Meticulously hand-crafted at the Tabacalera de Garcia factory in the Dominican Republic, Montecristo cigars are available in a variety of premium blends for all different tastes."

Drew Estate 'Acid' Krush Classic Red Cameroon

Drew Estate 'Acid' Krush Classic Red Cameroon. By Drew Estate. 4x32 cigarillo. Good build with subtle veins. Not as smooth as I'd like, but straight and well wrapped. Nice light brown color. Cut and lit well. Superb draw pre and post light. Sweet taste on the cut crown. Aromatic smoke akin to a fragrant spice bouquet. On the intake, taste is sweet caramel, pepper, floral herbs. The exhale has notes of coriander, pungent flowery herbs, strong black pepper. Flavors were consistent down to the band. This is another excellent aromatic from Drew Estate that pushes the flavor and aroma to the top. Cigar "purists" may not appreciate the abundant flavor profile, but I adore it. Highly recommended to lovers of aromatics with a half-hour to break away.
