Kennebunkport Brewing Co. Porter

Kennebunkport Brewing Co. Porter. 5.6% abv. Black in color. Pours a thick small-bead head with good retention and great sticky lace. Nose of sweet malt, strong chocolate notes, some coffee. Taste is dark chocolate with herbal hops in the back. Lingering aftertaste is dry, hoppy, slightly bitter. Thin body. Medium creamy mouthfeel. A decent porter to try.

From the company:

"KBC Porter is brewed by Kennebunkport Brewing Company in Kennebunk, Maine. KBC crafts their beers in small batches to ensure consistent quality and flavor profiles in every batch. They source their water from Maine’s Sebago Lake—which, at depths reaching more than 300 feet, is one of the purest fresh water sources in the U.S.—and hand-select the malts, hops & yeast for each brew. Similar in style to a stout, KBC Porter is dark brown, with aromas & flavors of sweet malt & coffee, with a slightly tangy bitterness from the Perle & Willamette hops. It's smooth-drinking and, not for nothing, looks stunning in a glass. For lovers of darker beers, KBC Porter is destined to become a favorite."
