Pabst 'Blue Ribbon' Lager

Past Blue Ribbon Beer 1
Pabst 'Blue Ribbon' Lager. 4.7% abv. 12 IBU. Lager. Pale straw color. A finger of white head that falls fast to a thin line. Moderate-low retention. Moderate lace. Faint nose of corn and peas. Front taste is barely there, faint canned greens. Aftertaste is a touch sweet, metallic, grassy. Thin watery body. Mouthfeel is bubbly.

PBR is the infamous symbol of 'hipster' beers, and can be enjoyed as a lawnmower beer or summer barbecue refresher. It is otherwise lacking in all respects: there is very little flavor, an off-putting aroma, and a metallic aftertaste. Other than its cheap price, hip status, or nostalgia, there is no reason to choose this beer if you actually have a choice.

It's one of those beers you've had many times because you were handed them at backyard barbecues or camping trips, or maybe they were $3.00 each at that cool nightclub. I can and do enjoy PBR, but only during such occasions. Take that as you will.

From the brewery:

"Pabst Blue Ribbon is brewed in the finest traditions of an American Premium Lager dating back to 1844. Brewed with a combination of 2 & 6-row malted barley, select cereal grains and American and European hops, Pabst Blue Ribbon is fermented with a proprietary lager yeast. Our unique fermentation and maturation process results in a smooth, full bodied beer with a clean, crisp finish with a fine noble hop aroma."
