Dust Bowl Brewing Coffee Porter

Dust Bowl Coffee Porter 1
Dust Bowl Brewing Coffee Porter. 5.9% abv. 28 IBU. Black in color. Two fingers of thick tan head off the tap. Good retention, excellent lace. Nose of fresh ground coffee, chocolate. Front taste of roasted grain, coffee, dark chocolate. Aftertaste of bittersweet cocoa, bright coffee notes, bitter hops. Medium-full body. Mouthfeel is carby, thick, grainy at the end.

This is a great coffee beer. The coffee tastes fresh and is present throughout. The bittersweet taste of the malt is nicely balanced, and the body is just right for a porter. It offers some heft but is still easily drinkable. Recommended.

From the brewery:

"This is a balanced, roasty, toasty porter brewed with British specialty malts, hops and a special blend of Costa Rican and Guatemalan coffee hand roasted in small batches by Turlock Coffee. It has layers of cocoa and coffee throughout with a balanced bitterness."
