Deschutes Brewery 'Mirror Pond' Pale Ale

Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale 1
Deschutes Brewery 'Mirror Pond' Pale Ale. 5% abv. 40 IBU. Copper color. Clear. Finger of white head that sustains a nice ring off the pour. Excellent retention and lacing. Nose of sweet amber malt, herbal hips, light caramel. Front taste of bitter herbal hops, toasty malt, biscuit. Aftertaste is sustaining hop bitter, floral back end. Light-medium body. Mouthfeel is light, small-bead carb.

This is a nice pale, one that has a slightly sweeter malt profile than normal, particularly when the temp drops. The hop bitter is balanced well, and the overall taste is flavorful and somewhat refreshing due to its body and feel. A solid example of its category. Recommended.

From the brewery:

"Our most popular beer, Mirror Pond Pale Ale is the quintessential northwest pale ale. Cascade hops and more Cascade hops give this tawny colored ale delicious hop-forward aroma and flavor. Pale malt allows the hops to linger, not overpower."
