Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur 1066 Robusto
Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur 1066 Robusto. Cameroon wrap. Cut and lit very well, with a smooth draw. Spicy aroma and taste pre-light, woodsy taste of cedar during first third. Even burn with clean, clingy ash. Wonderful cigar, better than some that are triple the price. This line is no longer called the 1066 (it's called "Cameroon" now), so this stick has aged and kept well.
From the company:
"Excalibur 1066 is a rich cigar with a tangy Cameroon wrapper. Made in Honduras, each 1066 is hand rolled to ensure top quality. Named after the legendary sword of King Arthur, Excalibur has quickly become a legend in its own right. Recognized as a premium cigar at an attractive price, Excalibur combines the straightforward taste of Honduran tobacco with the smooth flavor of a Cameroon wrapper. Painstaking attention to the quality of the components and care in craftsmanship have earned Excalibur a well-deserved reputation for excellence. Commemorating another chapter in Britain's storied past, General Cigar has set out to create an epic cigar bearing the date of the climactic Battle of Hastings in 1066. Excalibur 1066 is an extraordinary smoke, combining the full-bodied taste of its Honduran origin with the rich finish provided by its Cameroon wrapper. For years, the original Excalibur line and Excalibur 1066 have been very popular amongst aficionados who enjoy a full-flavored cigar."
