Bear Republic 'Racer 5' IPA. 7.5% abv. 75 IBU. Bottle conditioned. Honey color, hazy from the sediment. Thick ivory head off the pour becomes retaining thick surface with a ton of lace. Aromas of stone fruit, citrus, distant hops. Front tastes of grapefruit peel, pine, cloves, with an aftertaste of citrus and hops. Big body for the category. Mouthfeel is big, coated with the aftertaste. This is an IPA that rises above. Exceptional brew.
From the brewery:
"This hoppy American IPA is a full bodied beer brewed with American pale and crystal malts, and heavily hopped with Chinook, Cascade, Columbus and Centennial. There’s a trophy in every glass."
