Hangar 24 Brewing 'Orange Wheat'

Hangar 24 Orange Wheat Ale 1
Hangar 24 Brewing 'Orange Wheat'. 4.6% abv. 17 IBU. Hazy lemon yellow color. Thin bubbly white head. Low retention and little lacing. Nose of citrus-lemon peel, white bread. Front taste of bright citrus, mild lemon-orange, sweet bread, distant grapefruit on the back. Aftertaste of sweet light malt, light fruit, biscuit. Light body. Mouthfeel is cool, bright, tangy on the back of the tongue.

This is a nice session beer, great for summer barbecues (which is where I enjoyed this one). Light, refreshing, with a citrus profile that is ever-present but not cloyingly sweet and syrupy. In the categories of wheat beers, summer beers, and session beers, this one doesn't stand out, but it's still a pleasant brew around the grill. Worth your afternoon. Recommended.

From the brewery:

"Crisp, Tangy, and Refreshing. The citrus aroma, light airy mouthfeel, and tangy finish are this unfiltered beer’s trademarks. This is accomplished by adding whole locally grown oranges throughout the brewing process, which perfectly coalesce with the wheat and barley base."
